Wandahome first opened its doors to the public on the 18th May 1951 at our then premises situated on Stanningley Road in Leeds. Today we are one of the leading caravan retailers in the UK.
Established in the 1950s as a touring caravan and trailer manufacturer, Wandahome sold plans for customers to purchase and 'build their own' model of caravan. The customer was able to visit our Leeds showroom and buy a readymade chassis and then use one of our plans to build their own bespoke caravan.
The 'Dawn' was hand built with a timber frame, using plywood for the interior walls and furniture; windows were purchased from Ellbe Windows, Pudsey, Leeds who are still in business today producing windows and doors for the caravan industry; but of a much more modern design we hasten to add.
In 1959 a new premises was purchased, situated at the side of the A1 close to Ferrybridge and that is where you find us to this day.
In October 2012 Wandahome (Knottingley) Limited became one of the first caravan dealerships to achieve NCC Approved Dealer Status; an award that reflects our commitment to maintain our already high standards of customer service.
Over the years there have been many changes and improvements to our site here at Knottingley with the addition of much improved parking facilities and our fully heated showroom where you can view a good selection of both pre-owned and new caravans, pay a visit to our well equipped accessory department or wander through our awnings department where we have a good variety of both full and porch awnings on display.
Whether your purchase be large or small, you can be assured that both management and staff are committed to providing our customers with a service we can be proud of, a service that will keep our customers coming back to us year after year.
